There are no specific eligibility criteria for the SAT exam. Students typically in class 10, 11 or 12 may take this exam. A student may even take this exam after graduating from high school. In the United States, a typical SAT test taker is 17 or 18 year old.
A valid passport is the required identification for Indian students to test for the SAT exam.

In the basic fees for the exam a student may send his or her score to four colleges and scholarship programs. There are additions fees for late registration, standby testing and change of centres or test dates etc.
For Indian Students the new SAT without Essay would cost US$92 and with Essay costs US$103.5.
